Frequently Asked Questions
Professional Pain Management MD (PPMMD)
How do I get my medications?
During your initial / in person exam you and your PPMMD physician will
discuss what medications would be most effective in your particular
case. At the end of the exam you will be given a prescription. Every 2
months after your initial/in person exam you will be called by PPMMD
and consulted over the phone for your refill needs. We don't want you
to run out of needed medications so all necessary refills will be
called in to the pharmacy of your choice prior to end of your previous
prescription.
You have both a Legal Department and a Medical Department---You must be expensive
We consider ourselves the best in the business and that's exactly
what you should want when it comes to your health. Our minimum
requirements include at least a once yearly "in person" exam with
follow up telephone consults every two months as long as prescriptions
are being prescribed. The pricing schedule for a year is as follows:
The initial consult-in person is $275. A follow up consult-in person is
$145. A follow up consult-by telephone is $95.
How important are my old medical records?
While not mandatory, they are extremely helpful. If you don't have
them, then you must have a good explanation for why you don't. Your
test results help confirm your diagnosis and rule out problems that
must not be overlooked. Your treatment records can serve as another
opinion from a previous physician and show what has been tried and what
has worked. Without this documentation, we pretty much have to start
from the beginning, and this will be more costly and time consuming for
you.
How do I get my old medical records?
Simple, they are yours for the asking, and this right is protected
by State Law in most states. You simply need to call the doctors
office, hospital, treatment center or diagnostic facility where you had
treatment or tests done and request them. Make an appointment to pick
them up when they are ready, and you can sign for their release when
you pick them up.
How do I know if I must return for a follow up consult-in person?
You and your PPMMD caregiver will discuss your diagnosis and
treatment plan as well as your need for further supervision. In
general, if you have new test results to interpret, new medication to
evaluate, or unsatisfactory treatment results, then you will need a
follow up consult-in person. This, obviously, is where old records can
really help out.
I heard that PPMMD does house calls - Is this true?
Yes it is, but for now it is not possible in every area. Even though
the initial / in person exam occurs, for most, just once per year, we
realize some patients don’t wish to drive or can’t drive to their PPMMD
office. For these patients we offer the same high quality service in
the comfort of their home. This service is unique to PPMMD and
represents the ultimate in convenience. This service costs an extra
$100 dollars and requires approximately 2 weeks to set up.
Do you have any promotions or rebate programs?
Yes we do. Please click on the Promotions And Rebate link located on our Home page.
